Shri Krishna Technologies works on a lot of ecommerce platforms including Interspire, Magento, Drupal Ubercart, Joomla Virtue Mart, WP-Ecommerce, Instinct, E-junkie, CRE Loaded, Oscommerce and many more.
Well interestingly all of the shopping carts we have worked with have some features common and some offer somethings extra but recently we found an interesting shopping cart and worked on it.
TomatoCart is the new generation of open source shopping cart solution. It is branched from osCommerce 3 as a separate project and have modern web 2.0 features like Ajax and Rich Internet Applications which makes it more faster and more efficient. They have compared a lot of frameworks and come to the conclusion that ExtJS is the best framework for TomatoCart.
So they completely rewrote OsCommerce 3 using the ExtJS framework and qWikiOffice which is a desktop implementation of ExtJS RIA Framework. So using this desktop environment they could actually check its performance and speed as well in real time.
Well nowadays multi tasking is the key and hence with this idea one core feature of TomatoCart is that it allows users to keep several windows open simultaneously, to enable users to work with several modules such as products, customers and orders at the same time.
